Our troops need more than a gratuitous "We support you". They need, and deserve to hear from you personally. There are a couple of ways you can do this:

For those of you joining the party late, about two weeks ago I started a project intented to get an encouraging letter of support into the hands of every Marine and Sailor in the 1st battalion 1st Marine regiment.

Along the way I’ve gotten a lot of help from other bloggers like Captain Ed , Hugh , Lex , Blackfive , my fellow RMA members , Jenn , and Lashawn to name a few. Groups such as Soldiers Angels have helped out as well.

I just wanted to take a quick second and let everyone know how the project is going. I have officially broken the 300 mark, and I’m well on my way to 400 emails. Thank you again for everything you all have done to make this a success.

What can you do to help? Well, if you haven’t written a letter yet, fire off a generalized letter of support to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you don’t, send an email to your friends and family and tell them about the project.I hope to send the first batch of 500 emails out sometime next week… if we can hit 500 by then.

Hopefully..., I can't imagine what our troops must think

I can't imagine what our troops must think as they watch the madness out of Washington regarding this war. Hopefully they'll stop, think for a second about why they invaded Iraq ("hmmm.. that's right.. oil") and then desert.
