There are a lot of great tributes to our fallen heroes out here today. Do yourself a favor and go read through a few of them:

There's an excellent thread at Free Conservatives with several great comments and tributes to fallen heroes.

Velvet Hammer also has a special Wednesday Hero Memorial Day message.

Our freedom didn't just happen. It was paid for with the lives of every soldier past and present who gave selfessly to secure and protect what we have. It's my obligation and my duty to remember with reverence- every day- the sacrifices that have been made to allow us the freedom that we enjoy here in The United States of America.
This is at the root of my hostility and zero tolerance policy toward liberalism and it's America hating, America destroying core.
Every time some cowardly maggot burns an American flag, or stomps on our Constitution, or badmouths our country both here at home or on foreign soil- every time some America hating piece of crap ignores the fact that their freedom to be an America hating maggot was paid for with the blood of patriots, it's a slap in the face of every soldier who gave their lives to secure that freedom.
It's a slap in the face of every mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, son or daughter they left behind.
To President Bush and Congress- your selling out of American sovereignty is a slap in the face of every fallen soldier who died to secure that sovereignty.
Your secret meetings and plans to reward lawbreakers with amnesty is a slap in the face to every soldier who died for a country that is supposed to be held together by the rule of law.
To every member of Congress who has played games with the lives of our soldiers just for political gain- you are a stain on this nation and a shameful reminder of your lack of respect for those who are fighting for this country and for those who have died for this country in wars past and present.
To every America hating US citizen who has ever disrespected our soldiers and our freedoms they protect/protected, to every politician who who has commited treasonous traitorous acts in the name of their own self serving agendas- I sincerely hope that today none of you choke on your barbeque before you've had a chance to bow your heads in prayer to show gratitude for those who've died for your freedom that you take for granted. While you're at it, you might want to ponder your actions and possibly ask forgiveness for your sins against this great country God has blessed us with and the heroes God blessed us with who sacrificed themselves- for you.
