Super Bowl Ads of Cartoonish Violence, Perhaps Reflecting Toll of War By: Stuart Elliott | NY Times "No commercial that appeared last night during Super Bowl XLI directly addressed Iraq, unlike a patriotic spot for Budweiser beer that ran during the game two years ago. But the ongoing war seemed to linger just below the surface of many of this year’s commercials." Huhwhat?!? It did? No, what I really think you've got lingering below the surface is what's called inverted-cranial-rectumitis. I promise- if you'll just pull your head out just enough so that your eyes are actually exposed to the daylight and your nose can take in the fresh air of sanity, then the liberal dementia you are suffering from will soon wash away and you'll be able to truly see what those commercials really are... ready? Breathe deeply a few more times to let the oxygen in. Blink a few times. Rub your eyes if you need to... They are... Just some silly commercials you idiot!Nothing more. Nothing less. Geesh! It's hard to know what to say sometimes.I cut myself shaving yesterday. Smashed finger with a hammer. Stubbed my toe on that blankity-blankin' loose tile again. Must be the "toll of war" bubbling up from below the surface and now my subconscious is actually causing me to harm myself. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. After all. These geniuses are the ones who look at monkeys, see fingers, toes, 2 arms, 2 legs and forward facing eyes and proclaim to the world "hey, those are our ancestors!"
