So here's what's been rattling around in my head while I've been getting the site back together... Here we are with what's possibly one of the most important elections of our lifetime and voters seem to be getting dumber by the minute. Conservatives drafted Thompson. Conservatives voted for Thompson. Then, after Thompson, conservatives voted for Romney. This leaves us with: Political cowards -those who are easily manipulated by media hype and lies, and who will only vote for whomever they perceive as the the winning team. They are also known as bandwagon jumpers and moderates. They are the sheeple who have no mind of their own. They are the hand-wringing nail-biters who wait and see who the media tells them is winning... and they actually believe it! They bring the lie to truth by being good little consumers of mainstram media and fall right into the trap of mass manipulation. Traitors to conservative principles. Those are they who claim that they're all about conservatism and then turn around and vote for the least conservative candidates thrown at them. Wannabe conservatives who really have no clue what core conservative principles are, Religious bigots- those who would never under any circumstance vote for a *GASP* Mormon. On that same note I must confess that I'm not free from religious bigotry. I would never under any circumstance vote for an atheist or a Muslim. Just wouldn't happen. I'd be lying if I painted it any other way. Lazy voters- those who can't be bothered. They have no real interest in their country or can't be bothered to help shape the general elections. What can I say? You can't fix lazy. The sit at home protest (non)voters. Those are the ones who refused to vote for any of the candidates because they believe that none of them fit description of the ideal conservative. While I can somewhat understand that view to a certain extent, the truth is, based a lot on what I've read from those who didn't see a true conservative in any of the candidates... that ideal candidate doesn't exist. Some of you out there have taken the human factor out of your presidential candidate and are seeking none other than Jesus Christ Himself as the candidate. Sorry to break it to you, but He won't be back until it's time. When that is none of us know. Until then we're left with mere humans and the flaws that we all have. Your perfection principle is naive and damaging. There are a lot of you out there. The fact that dems are turning out 2:1 over Republicans throughout the primaries tells that tale. ...no matter what category you fit in, and the above list is by no means a complete or in-depth analysis, you are the reason we are now stuck with McCain and Huckabee. We keep hearing "well, it took 4 years of Carter to get Reagan". Yeah, alright. While that sounds like a real clever justification, the reality is that it's nothing less than sheer stupidity. The truth is, we lucked out with Reagan. He was a one of a kind. We very well may never get that lucky again. Gambling on the theory that sitting this one out in protest is not an intelligent choice. Having to one day explain to my kids what freedom was like before communists were allowed to infest their government is not something I'm prepared to do. Carter was scary and incompetent as could be, but he pales in comparison to the long term damage the communist s***bags on the left will do in a short amount of time if one of them is allowed the presidency. One thing is for sure- this is not a set-it-and-forget-it government. No matter who gets elected, we will always have to keep on their asses. So you might think twice before drinking that second cup of stupid. Leave that to the libs. Lose the perfection principle and and have a nice dose of reality... hard as it is to swallow sometimes.
