After watching the president speak last night I then had the displeasure of seeing and hearing a few of the comments made by people. Of course they were, as usual, the ones we were allowed to see through the filter of the liberal media. Nope, of course they wouldn't show us any positive comments. Or even any slightly encouraged comments, rather, they showed those who were saying "I wish he had shown more emotion" or "he didn't show enough emotion" or "I didn't feel enough emotion from him"- I, I, I, me, me, me... WHAP!!! Feel that? That was the calloused, bruised, scarred and battered hand of a hard workin' American slapping you upside the head! You want emotion? Go watch Terms of Endearment or Titanic. We here in the real world appreciate it when our Commander-In-Chief sticks to the facts, projects strength and leaves the acting to the actors. The very few good ones left out there anyway. Yeah, I'm sick of the war too. Yes, It's incredibly painful to see the lives lost. But for those of us who don't suffer from short term memory loss, we remember when Bush told America we were going to war. We remember him saying "it will be a long war... a difficult war... a different kind of war". We remember those words. How plainly true they were/are. I'm also sick of the self-pitying self-indulgent whiners out there complaining that they didn't get treated to enough "emotion" from the president. Unbelievable!
