In his State of the Union address tonight, Bush says: 

"One of the first steps we can take together is to add to the ranks of our military — so that the American Armed Forces are ready for all the challenges ahead. Tonight I ask the Congress to authorize an increase in the size of our active Army and Marine Corps by 92,000 in the next 5 years."

Gee, he might not be having to ask for that authorization if that military hating derelict from the previous 8 years hadn't made such huge military cuts to begin with. Clinton removed

286,000 

military jobs from the federal payroll. So when you hear about how "our troops are spread too thin"...

you can think to yourself...

"Thanks Bill"

There's plenty more of that to be added to the Thanks Bill section. A lot of what he did and didn't do then has a lot to do with what we're going through now.
